Ultrasound Calculation
Tune Transducer with one Inductor: Center Frequency: MHz
|Z|: Ω
θ: º
Impedance Real Part
Impedance Imaginary Part

Ultrasound transducer has a capacitor structure and it has a capacitance component at the design frequency in most cases. This imaginary part of impedance will cause severe reflections when the ultrasound transducer is connected a transceiver through a long cable. To simply remove this reactance, a series or parallel inductor tuning is enough. At given working frequency, for given impedance in |z| - θ, or Real-Imaginary format, the calculator will calculate the required inductor value in both series and parallel mode. A parallel inductor tuning leads to a higher final impedance compared to the series inductor tuning. For complicated electrical matching network, which will tune the impedance to a desired real resistance at center frequency while keep a nice echo shape, a customized design can be submitted.
