What does "50% bandwidth" mean? And, why is this the lower limit for B-mode imaging?

Last replied to at July 13, 2011, 12:18 pm 50% bandwidth means bandwidth/centerFrequency =50%.
If your center frequency is 5MHz, the bandwidth (-6dB) is 2.5MHz. Higher bandwidth usually means higher axial resolution.
